Bee Removals

This page lists local bee removal services who assist residents with the safe and humane relocation or removal of bees. Contacts are shared as a community reference, based on local knowledge and recommendations. Where possible, bee removals focus on relocation rather than extermination, helping to protect both residents and these important pollinators.

If you discover a bee swarm

  • Keep a safe distance and avoid disturbing the bees.
  • Do not spray, poison or attempt to remove the swarm yourself.
  • Keep children and pets away from the area.
  • If possible, note where the swarm is located (tree, wall, roof, etc.) so you can describe it clearly.
  • Contact a bee removal specialist for advice and assistance.

Bees commonly found in the area

The Capri and Deep South area is home mainly to African honey bees, which play an important role in pollination and the local ecosystem.

In residential areas, bees may sometimes establish hives in sheltered spaces such as garden sheds, roof eaves, vents, walls, or other quiet structures. This often happens gradually and may only be noticed once bee activity increases.

At certain times of the year, bees may also swarm as part of their natural lifecycle. Swarms are usually focused on relocating and are often calm if left undisturbed.

Where bees have settled in or around homes, specialist bee removers can safely relocate hives to more suitable environments, helping to protect both residents and the bees.

If you’re unsure how to handle a situation involving bees, it’s best to keep your distance and contact a bee removal specialist for guidance.
