About

Janine Doerheit is a registered Specialist Wellness Counsellor and experienced Doula based in Capri, Cape Town. Through her private practice, Janine Doerheit Counselling, she provides a welcoming, non-judgemental space where individuals, couples and families can explore life’s challenges, strengthen relationships and work towards greater emotional wellbeing.

Janine offers individual counselling for adults, relationship and couples counselling, family support and counselling for adolescents aged 13 and older. Her work also includes sexology-informed guidance, helping clients navigate intimacy, relationships and personal concerns with sensitivity and understanding.

With over 10 years of experience as a doula and childbirth educator, Janine also supports individuals and families through pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, offering compassionate guidance during these important life transitions.

Janine holds a BSocSci in Psychological Studies from the University of Cape Town, a BA Honours in Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. She is registered with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP) and is currently completing an MSc in Sexual Psychology and Sexual Therapy.
